Jesus Acosta is a founding member of NobleMotion and is in his fifth season dancing with the company. Jesus has performed nationally in venues such as The Ailey Theater, The Kennedy Center, and the Rose Wagner PAC in Salt Lake City. A Dance Magazine Panel recently recognized him at the National College Dance Festival for his “fluidity of motion that was punctuated by sharp arrests of motion and dynamic shifts of focus and presence.” Critic Neil Ellis Orts has also commended him for his “commanding presence.” Jesus also performs with Hope Stone and teaches at studios across the Houston area.
Laine Charpentier is a native Houstonian and has been dancing for 20 years. Coming from a strong studio background, she pursued her BFA at Sam Houston State University before moving to New York City to join the Independent Study Program at The Ailey School. During her 5 years in New York, Laine had the pleasure of studying and working with incredible artists such as Milton Meyers, Benoit Swan Pouffer, and Doug Varone, to name a few. Laine recently moved back to Houston, and she is thrilled to be working with NobleMotion. This is her second season with the company.
Tristin Ferguson was born in Brooklyn, NY, and was trained under the instruction of Mrs. Anna Ashy as a member of Alief Jazz Ballet Dance Company. Tristin holds a BFA in dance from Sam Houston State University and is currently pursuing her MFA. Tristin is a founding member of NobleMotion and is in her fifth season. Critic Neil Ellis Orts described her dancing as “fierce.”
Danielle Gonzaba is from San Antonio, Texas and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance. She has performed with the Texas World Dance Company, Rednerrus Feil Dance Company, Earthen Vessels Dance Company, and in productions by Laura Gutierrez. She has taught and choreographed for the Universal Dance Association as well as various dance studios, and high schools across Texas. Recently, Danielle performed in a Tino Seghal installation at the Menil Collection, and is in her first season with NobleMotion Dance Company.
Rachael Hutto hails from Flower Mound, TX and is in her second season with the company. Rachael received scholarships this summer to attend Dance Italia in Lucca, Italy where she studied with Christiano Fabbri (Italy), Aya Israeli (Gaga) and Bruce Michelson (Kylian) to name a few. She is currently pursuing her BFA in Dance from Sam Houston State University.
Jennifer Mabus is originally from Dallas, Texas and received her BFA in Dance from Southern Methodist University. She has had an active performing career in New York and Texas with companies such as Battleworks Dance Company, Amy Marshall Dance Company, Take Dance Company, Heidi Latsky, and Bruce Wood Dance Project. She has taught on the dance faculties of Booker T. Washington HSPVA and Texas Christian University, and will be continuing to teach and pursue an MFA in Dance at Sam Houston State University. Jennifer continues to perform with Dark Circles Contemporary Dance and is thrilled to be in her first season with NobleMotion Dance.
Travis Prokop is a second year Graduate student at Sam Houston State University. Originally from Clovis, New Mexico, Travis has been dancing for 18 years and received his Bachelors of Fine Arts from West Texas A&M University. Credits include Vegas callbacks on Season 5 of the fox broadcasting show So You Think You Can Dance, as well as adjudicated choreography in the Gala Performance at The American College Dance Festival in Ogden, Utah. Travis is in his second season dancing for NMD.
Brittany Thetford is a founding member of NMD and has performed at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the Ailey Theater in New York City, Dance Houston’s 8th, 9th and 10th annual citywide dance festivals held at The Wortham Center and at Weekend of Texas Contemporary Dance at the Miller Outdoor Theater to name a few. She received her BFA and MFA in Dance at Sam Houston State University and is in her fifth year performing with NobleMotion.
