Founded in 2009, NobleMotion Dance is a Houston based, 501(c)(3) non-profit performing arts organization. NMD Co-Artistic directors Andy Noble and Dionne Sparkman Noble are long time collaborators who have been entertaining audiences for over fifteen years. Their work has received over 30 positive local and national reviews and they have been invited by numerous organizations to perform in events including The Dance Gallery Festival New York, Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, Weekend of Texas Contemporary Dance, Houston’s Jewish Community Center’s Dance Month, Dance Houston and Big Range Dance Festival (Houston and Austin).
Referring to NobleMotion’s premiere performance at Houston’s Big Range Dance Festival in 2009, Dance Source Houston critic Neil Ellis Orts stated “…the company exhibits an extraordinary athleticism…NobleMotion Dance is a name to watch.”
In 2014, NobleMotion was awarded the Houston Arts Alliance Resident Incubator Grant. For 36 months, NobleMotion will receive in-depth training, diagnostics, planning and resources as well as office space in the Houston Arts Alliance building in downtown Houston. NobleMotion Dance are new members of the Texas Commission on the Arts Texas Touring Roster for 2014-2016. The Texas Touring Roster features some of the state’s best artistic talent and is designed to ensure that all Texans may enjoy events and performances by these artists in their local communities. NobleMotion Dance is one of 150 artists and arts companies selected for inclusion on the roster and one of 10 contemporary dance companies.
The company looks forward to producing two full length evenings in Houston this season, collaborating with Musiqa (Houston’s contemporary music group), light artist David Deveau, technology artist Jonathan Kinsey, as well as touring to New York City for the Dance Gallery Festival.
